group7- Money in Politics

You cannot be in politics without any money in The United States. Your ideas do not matter if you do not have anyone to sponsor you financially. Your word does not get out if there is no money. It is not fair because the same people with the same ideas and from the same background are elected into office. There should be a limit to how much money you can spend on a campaign and it should be limited to a couple thousand.

Money

Money affects politics in many ways.It is not a good thing. Most politicians come into politics with a real hope for change and they say they will help people and fight for them. This is completely changed once lobbyists and corporations want to get something done. They talk to elected officials and can easily bribe them to sway their vote. This is what corrupts today's politics. I do not think any laws governing this subject would work because they can not be enforced. Its not hard to have a secret meeting with a politician and offer him/her money in exchange for votes. All we can really do is hope that whatever it is they took money for, it is at the very least not harmful to citizens or damage the environment badly.

Money

does money affect politics? How? Is this good or bad? What rules, if any, should there be about money in politics?

I think money does affect politics. It's easy to get things done in your favor when you have money. You can influence people do stuff for money. Candidates can use money to buy well known people to support them. They can also use money to buy votes. I think it is bad. I think that some rules would be like putting a maximum amount of money a candidate can use.

Money

When looking at politics, money plays a huge role. If a candidate does not have a lot of money, he/she will not go far. Money is needed to go across the country and campaign and to even win the crowd over. In my opinion, this is a bad thing. Sometimes there might be an amazing candidate but he/she does not have enough money to fund the campaign. The rules concerning money in politics should be that there is a limit of $2 million to spend on campaigning. This way, almost everyone has a chance to save up enough money if they are really interested in running in the election.

Money

Money does affect politics. You need alot of money in order to run a good campaign. Sometimes it could good or bad. I think it depends on how or who you get the money from. There should be a rule on the proper ways of getting money.

group7-school

I love big schools. I couldn't see myself going to a small school. I came from a small school. Im glad i go to lane, ive met many friends.

Group- School

I'm a junior at Lane Tech and I will be taking the ACT's soon. Im really not worried about it at all. All my practice test coming up suggest that i will get about a 23-25 so I'm happy. One thing that is stressing me though is choosing college. I didnt think it would be this hard. It wouldnt be as difficut if I knew what I wanted to major in, but i dont know. Im stuck between biology [premed, electrical engineering, and economics. Hopefully after I get my offical ACT score, I will probably have a better idea of where i will be headed

Group- school

I love school. But recently this school has been getting me mad. I don't like that they wont let us use our iPods. It is dumb that we can't use them on our OWN time. I think they are over reacting.

Group- School

I love school! Getting an education is one of the most important priorities a person should have these days. I am fortunate that I am at a school like Lane Tech. I feel as if I am well prepared for college. When I graduate in a couple months, there are many aspects of this school that I will miss!

School

Yeah tomorrow Seniors don't have to come to school until 12:30pm. Sucks for the Juniors. But why come to school for just an hour and a half. Let us just stay home.

Elections

So.. Obama is ahead of Clinton.. Uhm well this makes me worry about his safety a little. I know he has the secret service protection but i still think his safety is at risk. Many good presidents got killed and i fear that he might get killed just because of his race.

Elections 2008

The 2008 Elections are looking pretty interesting. I'm interested to see what happens with the Democratic candidates.

Election

Obama was called unpatriotic by many people for not wearing an American flag pin and for not putting his hand over his chest. There have also been emails saying that OBama is Muslim and planning to harm the United States if he becomes president. Obama's military advisor is a former general and strongly denies these allegations. Obama's wife Michelle also said that this is the first time she has felt proud of her country. This combined makes him vulnerable for the general election. Obama is patriotic and if he wasnt he wud not have spent years in the state legislature.

Elections

In my opinion, I think Hillary is the better Democratic candidate. She has many years of experience in the White House, and is truly concerned with the welfare of our country. Obama is more concerned with getting his name out there and acting like a Hothead for publicity. Just because he is good with words, it doesn't make him a reasonable candidate.

School

I feel as if school is a very diverse topic. It is something that all of us have in common, however, there are so many different things that can be discussed. Everyone is going to have their own opinion about this topic. Currently I am experiencing a sever case of senior-itis! and I cannot wait until Graduation. 3 months and 10 days SENIORS!!!

Elections

I think the Democratic race is very suspenseful. First Hillary was in the lead and now Obama is in the lead. I think Obama is going to be the next President. If he doesn't win he probably got ripped off.

Elections

Oh no! Elections are Coming up!
